Battlefield 3 weapons overview, The upcoming DICE title, Battlefield 3, is already making a name for itself in the FPS genre after garnering awards after awards in many of the game shows it has participated in this year and after having more than a million preorders and counting, it has further proven why it is one of the most anticipated gaming titles this year. Battlefield 3 will feature game modes that have helped it gain a huge cult following since Battlefield 1942 was introduced by DICE almost a decade ago. Furthermore, it will feature not only the modern weapons that were well-loved by Battlefield 2 as well as the Battlefield: Bad Company series players, but also new weapon additions as well.

The 870 MCS is the only pump-action shotgun among these while the DAO-12 will be available instantly for people who preorder the Physical Warfare edition. Some of the shotgun ammunitions that can be used in-game include the 12 gauge buckshot, flechette, 12 gauge frag, and 12 gauge slugs.

Playable unguided anti-tank and anti-vehicle launchers include in battlefield 3 weapons are the M136 AT4, RPG-7V2, and the SMAW. The F8M-148 Javelin, which is a guided Anti-tank weapon, is also available in the game. The American FIM-92 Stinger and the Russian SA-18 IGLA are two guided anti-air weapons that can deal effectively with air threats.

The tactical flashlight and laser sight are 2 new features in the game which can be used to blind enemies and allies and are particularly useful in close combat situations. Some weapons can be used with bipods and foregrips to improve accuracy. Some weapons can also use the M320 launcher which uses grenade, smoke, or shotgun shells and the M26 MASS or Modular Accessory Shotgun System which can use shotgun, flechette, fragmentary round, and solid slug ammunition. Lastly, the Straight Pull Bolt allows bolt-action rifle users to fire their next shot without leaving the view of the scope.

DICE has already confirmed that Battlefield 3 weapons will have 10 times more weapon unlocks compared to Battlefield: Bad Company 2. There are more than 50 weapons to unlock with each weapon allowed to have three attachments. DICE also boasted that it will take more than a hundred hours to unlock all Battlefield 3 weapons in each class which means the game will have a high replay value.
